I talked to a guy that was supposed to come look at a car and said he definately wanted it. Im about an hour away from him. He insisted that he wanted to look at the car tonight and the weekend was too far away. Being the nice guy that I am, I get out of work early get the car from my uncles, drive it up here with no insurance and now this dickhead can even give me a phone call to tell me if he isn't comming. I love how people are going to take it and then are no shows.
Yup....Many folks have lost the sense of common courtesy and ethics....however...there are more good than bad out there.
I manage some duplexes and house rentals on the side. My first requirement is that they call a 1/2 hour before I meet them there. I learned the hard way. Believe it or not there are still about 25% of the people that still don't show after saying they will just 30 minutes prior.

oh man , more than once. i usually end up calling them back and letting them know how happy i am with them

I have taken the philosophy that I am selling something which means they are buying something that THEY want. They can come see it on my terms, bottom line. If they want it, non-refundable security deposit and a signed agreement when the property is picked up. If they default by one day it is mine and we start over. I will not allow anyone to dictate my schedule because 99% are tire kickers anyway.
