hey guys, im buying a new head unit from best buy and i currently have 2 subs and a 1000 watt amp but the monsoon head unit wont power it correctly, my question is what all i going to be needed to be done in order for them to switcth head units???? is it a normal install with the monsoon system?????? my car is a 1999 and also....all they have to do is send my rca cables to the front headunit right????? thanks guys please help me i need this asap!!!!
to switch the hu all you need is a wiring harness and an install kit, since you said you bought it from best buy, they should have the correct harness for your new head unit. all you need to do is plug the factory wiring harness into the one you just bought, and put that into the back of your new hu. if your new head unit has the rca inputs on it, then yes all you have to do is run them from the amp to the hu. oh and another thing, your gonna need an intenna adapter that goes from the existing intenna into the back of the new hu so you can recieve radio stations. everything together should cost around 30 bucks.

If the guys at Best Buy can't figure out how to use your gear along with the POS Monsoon HU I don't think I would want them to even touch my car. What a bunch of morons they must be.
This worked great for me.......I kept my original head deck and added a 10 disk changer.... then I hooked up a line level rca cord off one speaker and hooked the amp up mono to run my sub.... sounds great........
