wheels for the wife's car

got some silver C5 wheels. she wants to paint them black. 17 x 8.5 front and 18 x 9.5 rear

I hate black rims and don't get the new found appeal of them. They just look dirty IMO. I can handle gloss black with a polished lip..don't like it but can handle it. All black is just gross.

I see she went with the c5 rims you mentioned in an earlier post.

Got suggestion for you.... her....

If she really want to do something to them... how about going the other direction?? WHITE WHEELS!!!!!!!!

But if I think if you do you should powder coat them!!!!!!!

Or she could them chromed. But for that you would have to have them stripped!!!!

Deffinitely keep a polished lip if you must go black

we talked about white wheels. the brake dust kills white paint too much and will fade out.

How about like a "hyper-black" like they have on the C6 Z06 rims.

gloss black looks better than medium or flat though...not really a fan of black/white cars either....WHAT is this HYPER-BLACK ????????

It is a blackish colored chrome finish.

That HYPER-BLACK looks Killer...would look great on any color....:yup:

the wheels are for the wife's white car, actually. i had been debating putting black wheels on my car. so, this was an opportunity to see it firsthand. she didn't want a polished lip on her wheels.

yep. she's contemplating a pink lip on them now. plus we are thinking about painting the calipers silver an putting words on them. right now, they are pink. still have to get the pink firebird stickers for the center caps.
