This new cam is supposed to give a stock '01 LS1 60 rwhp with no other mods! Anybody tried this cam? That sounds like a LOT of power to make with just a cam swap.

I have heard that, but it seems hard to believe. Normally it requires full bolt on to do that.
Although they embellished on it's specs, this only tells part of the cams story. Plus, it would require a really good tune to see those numbers w/out bolt on's.Quote:

i guess where i miss the part where the motor in the pic and dyno video is a stock engine. unless a FAST 90/90, meziere electric water pump, no accessories, no belts, and headers come stock on our cars???
what does 'no other changes' mean? after all, i'm sure they didn't use stock springs and pushrods.Quote:

My auto made 403 with the magic stick, long tubes, offroad y, and a lid.
403 rwhp from a cam and bolt-ons! :love:Quote:

I know right. I thought "no other changes" means they got a bone stock LS1, changed the cam, and thrashed it on the dyno and got 60 rwhp. That really sounds far fetched.Quote:

Peek Horsepower on my car was at 6,500 RPMs. It shifts at 6,600 now and let me tell you... I wet myself everytime I here that motor spin that fast :drool:Quote:

You are right, I posted my rwhp numbers for my cam in another thread that I started when I was looking for a cam, and some dude said those numbers sucked considering I had all the supporting mods. But, the area under the curve is what matters. What a big cam gives you above 6 grand, is taking away from midrange numbers, which you will spend most of your time at. And you lose torque. The TQ curve for that cam was HIGH, and FLAT, all the way through the power band. That is where the seat of the pants power is felt. People tend to only look at peak numbers, for some reason.:dunno:Quote:
