What is the "Reputation" icon? I click on it, and it says I have 10 reputation points. What does that mean? Can we see what others have said about our posts?

its just a pat on the back in a sence... i have 10, but its was just because i told a guy welcome to the thread... no one ever hands them out, so i dont even see y its a feature... it just says thanks, basically or i guess you can hand out negetive one too that say FU...

I used this system on another forum. The "scales" icon in each avatar allows you to add positive/negative to each person. As you accumulate positives you eventually get more of the little green "trash cans" (that's what most people called 'em). I had five green cans on that forum.
It's an okay system, but it can turn into a vanity experiment. That other forum became a popularity contest so they ended up turning off that feature. I was glad to see it isn't abused here.

Its kinda crap because even if you do not sya anything wrong people can add to your rep and make it look bad.
Its really a un-needed thing since no one even checks those.

I feel it's a wonderful gesture, but like someone already mentioned.... it can definitely get out of hand. It suddenly becomes a popularity contest, and soon you'll have members creating additional memberships simply to add to their reputation points.
