Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone has ever used the Pro 5.0 shifter for the T-56 and how they liked it. :help:
Does anyone have a particular shifter they just love? Would like to hear that too!!
Thanks for any info!

B&M Ripper Shifter!
I like em. Haven't missed 3rd. yet.
ya, hows the 5.0 for the vette? and wheres a good place to buy it?
I would assume there just as good? I picked up mine from speed inc. Try them.
i've got one. its great! I’d recommend it!
Thanks for the info everyone!! I appreciate it. I think I will try one.
The reason I was asking is that I tried a cheap knock-off type shifter from eBay (cost only like $35 shipped) and it does help some, but I just don't like the cheaply made feel of it. If anyone else is considering one of those shifters on eBay (there are LOTS of them) put your $ toward something decent. :drivin:
yes, i think they are all short throws and yes i believe the shifter is included
i have a pro 5.0 with a lou's short stick and its awsome,
got them from afterthoughts auto

they have a package deal so your not buying stuff you dont need.

afterthoughtsauto.com is where I got mine. its great like I’ve said... 100% improvement over stock... you'll have a hard time missing 3rd... I know I had some trouble getting my stock shifter into 3rd... the Pro - 5.0 salved the problem
could cleaning the stock shifter help shifting easier or can that be done?
love it, espically with lou's short angled shifter
Before I installed my Pro 5.0 I could not powershift into 3rd without grinding or missing it all together. I installed a B&M in my friends SS and did'nt like the way it looked compared to my Pro 5.0. :burnout:
I've heard some good things about that shifter.
I have the Pro 5.0 and i like it, havent missed a shift yet and the quality is better than some other aftermarket shifters for the T56. It feels really solid and stout and has about 30% less through than stock but i think i would like to try it with the short stick
doesn't matter, the angle keeps the original profile of the 5.0 but both work just fine, it's a personal preferenceQuote:

What I did was took the original shifter handle that comes with the Pro 5.0 and cut about 1/2" off the threads. There are a lot of threads on that handle and you can safely cut some off (as I did) and now the shifter sits in the perfect spot for me.
I put that Lou's short stick on & I hated it (but many people like it). I'd sell it cheap (can't remember what I payed for it, but whatever it costs brand new cut that price in half and it's yours + shipping). I used it for like 2 weeks then took it out. It's sitting in a box in my basement somewhere.
The short stick was just too short and I didn't like the feel compared to how I have my Pro 5.0 right now. I believe I have the angled one but I'm not 100% sure because I haven't seen the thing since I bought it in 99'. When I get home from work (6:00 PM EST) I'll dig it up, snap a few pics and then post them so you can see what I've got. As for the price, I'd have to do a google search and find out how much it costs new (I can't remember what I payed for it back in 99' when I bought it. So if it's the one you would like and brand new it costs $40 + shipping, I would sell it for half of the new price...so, $20 + shipping. I would imagine it's cheap to ship, probably like $5 or something like that. I'll look for it when I get home later...I've gotta find where it's hiding before I can do anything else. :)Quote:

Totally worth the investment, especially for your poor synchros when you miss gears due to the crappy stock shifter
