Don't know why? Car has sat for 2 years; 1st and second run out fine (rpm) wise: but if in drive or overdrive, slips to neutral at 2500 rpm in second gear: won't go to third or fourth! Can I please get some info on this!!??? Any input would help!!?

Gosh. I'm nowhere near an expert, so take this with a grain of salt.
As I think about my understanding of how an auto works, I'd probably first speculate that you don't have enough oil pressure to "push" it into third gear. There could be a "leak" in the valve body or maybe it's clogged. I'm not sure if it could be a converter issue, as I would expect that to affect all gears.
If it is an oil pressure issue, have you checked the fluid level? Might just need a top-off.
It sitting for two yrs you most likely need to drain the fluid and change the filter. That should have been done 1st prior to driving it. All fluids go bad the longer they sit. Car shows where they hook up a battery and magically start and drive a car that sat for yrs usually doesn't run for very long.
Changing the fluids/filter will be the cheaper fix for the moment. It will also check off a possibility of issues when you go to trouble shoot it.
List of possibilities:
Transmission pump failure
Shift Solenoid failure
Manifold Pressure switch
I don't think the clutches or plates are the issue, sounds like it's a fluid issue like Naaman is trying to say.
OK, I'll change the filter and fluids then try it again. Thanks for the input!
