Can anyone speak from experience on this? I'm curioius if they can be removed together or if they need to be separated first?
What about for the 93-97 models?

If you remove them from underneath by dropping the k-member, you can do them both together. It can be done from above, but expect a lot more work.
Doing it from the top you'll need to drop the tranny.
reason why you'll need a lift to get it high enough to clear the K-member and a engine lift to get it that high
Most do like Walt said, drop it the with the K-member and go underneath.
When you say "from underneath", I'm assuming you're talking about using a lift to lift the car off the engine & trans, yes?
Yes, but there have been some that have lifted the car without using a lift.
From what I remember you need to disconnect all the grounds and wire harness, loosen the transmission cross-member, the K member (eat your spinach, they are on real tight) remove the ORY then lift the car up.
You need to talk with Jeremy - ls1camino
He can help you on what is the best way. He's able to tear them down very fast.
What's going on in here? I heard my name :hide:
Slade, I just PM'd you back.
Speak it and he shall appear....
I just pointed him to my Frankenbird thread...detailed pics are there on page 3.
Drop them together by taking them out from under with the K member.
