need a bit of help reading OHMs... for the VATS system key
Ok so I was replacing my steering column, and I took out the ignition tumbler. I broke off the white wires at the base of the tumbler. These are for the microchip thingy (VATS system) to start the car. I read on another post how to bypass the system by finding out what VATS number my key was set to. I took it to a locksmith, he said it was number 15. (11.80 OHMS resistance) Here is where I'm getting a bit lost. The instructions tell me to go to the closest number, which would be 12.00 OHMS. I'm supposed to get resistors to match from Radio Shack. Here comes the confusion. Is that "12" Ohms, or "12,000" Ohms? Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I really don't want to take it in the ass with the $300.00 dealer fix.:tired:)
Sorry guys i figured it all out. My bad.......Thank you to other threads!
