I am putting in a TR224 cam into my 60,000 mile '00 Z28. It is a daily driver, no race track. How do I decide whether or not to put in new timing chain and gears and oil pump at the same time. Is there any other criteria for deciding other than "as long as I am in there, I might as well"?

You usually change the timing chain at 100 k and the 00 and under ls1 oil pumps aren't that great compared to our 01 02 brothers I just changed mine I went with the package from tick performance

Check out the ls2 timing chain its better than the ls1 no modifications needed and you won't have to worry and the oil pump I got was an ls6 ported pump. I've heard nothing but good things on these two parts
It's up to the individual. With only 60K miles I probably wouldn't worry about it.
My wifes 2000 had a cam done at 40k miles, didn't bother with a chain or the pump at that time, no need. Makes the cam swap much easier too.
If you plan to pound the car and live a hard life, then I might consider it.
I would defiantly change the chain and oil pump. I don't see the need to change the cam and crank gears. The chain is cheap to upgrade to an LS2 timing chain. With earlier LS1 years having oil pump failures regardless of mileage a GM LS6 pump is recommended.
