93 1500 with a 350 tbi and 4l60
Swapping just the engine to a 5.3 keeping stock tranny
The 4L60E Trans that is used for LS style engines is known as the 300mm style, the main differences are the bell housing, input drum, Torque Converter and pump stator length. Beginning in 1996-1998 GM went over to a 2 piece style case depending on the model of vehicle it was used in, but the 2 piece case was used for both the 298mm and 300mm style of 4L60E transmissions.
As long as you can get it to bolt up and get the torque converter to line up properly then you should have no problem getting it to bolt up. You cannot use the stock PCM from the 5.3L Motor to control the 1993 4L60E and they are different.
I would recommend getting a 300mm 4L60E and controlling both the Engine and Transmission with the same PCM for optimal performance since the were originally tuned as a pair, getting the correct shift points and power band.
