Taking the plunge

Just bought the ring and am going to ask my girl to marry me. We've been dating for 3 yrs now and are about to close on our house in two weeks. Thinking about proposing when we first open the door of our new home . Definitively a bit nervous but I can honestly say this is the first girl i've dated that I have actually wanted to marry, dated a few girls that got close and they wanted to get married but I did not. Many have come before her but non have compared. Sorry if this is a bit lame for ls1.com but I had to share as I've told no one of this because I want this to be a surprise.

i proposed last year right before we closed...our closing date was feb 14th and i refused to propose on that day, lol

you could hand her the key, and have the ring on it....

That's actually a pretty good idea. I am not 100% sure exactly how i'm going to do it but I definitely what it to be at the house.

You can have it sitting on a small table in the living room.

Have the real estate or closing agent put it in the big stack of papers you will have to sign.

A small table, white table cloth, two glasses, with two chairs, accompanied with a chilled bottle of champagne, two candles and chocolate covered strawberries. It's simple, but still romantic ;)

That's awesome! Proposing is definetly nerve racking :lol: I had all sorts of ideas to propose and then I ended up doing it in the simplest way possible and it was awesome, she cried, she loved it, and she said yes. It'll be awesome either way you go about it man, don't get nervous. The way you feel about your soon to be fiance is the same exact way I feel about my now wife :D

I had a plan for how I wanted to do it and I was nervous as shit. Ended up not saying anything I had planned. Just asked the question. Good luck though

Yeah the entire speech never seems to make it out or at least not for me also

I wrote poems for her and each word from the title of all the poems spelled out "Will You Marry Me". Yes, I wrote 14 poems. Last poem gave the clue.
