Recently put a ms4 cam on my 98 ls1 but my tps sensor keeps going out and my engine turns off sometimes mostly when on reverse. I have stock heads, manifold, headers and exhaust. Other mods I did where ls2 timing chain, hardened pushrods, ls6 ported oil pump, double springs, ls7 lifters, 3600-3800 stall, k&n induction and transmission cooler and had it tuned but still not running right. Does anyone have an idea why?
How does it idle/drive? Had a friend who ran a basic (poor tune) in his car with a cammed and stalled auto that would die in parking lots but once on the move it drove fine.That car must be choked up with an ls-1 intake and stock exhaust manifolds, not a good combo. Was your tuner known for specializing in these cars? You may have to find another tuner.
^^ Well said. running a stock ls1 instake, heads, manifolds don't allow much breathing room for a cam in that size in the first place. Also if you didn't already have a pro tune you will need one right away.
