have one from a 2000 firebird ebony in color no broken tabs. belongs to a complete A4 console.it would take a good offer to seprate it?
I have a broken one too, and couldn't find a direct replacement. They are not availble from GM anymore. What you can do is buy the graphite one, and paint it black. I saw a friends and you can't tell with the black interior paint.
I found a graphite lid from Hawks Third gen, but I haven't painted it yet. I'm thinking maybe Hydro-dip from EmblemPro on some interior parts.
I know GM discontinued them. Even when they did sell them, you had to buy it with the console. I was thinking about buying graphite. I just didn't know how it would look painted. But if you say it looks good, maybe that is the way I will go. Thanks.
After thinking about paying $60 and then having to paint it, I decided to fix mine. The little plastic arm with the plastic peg on the left side, is where mine broke. I took a blade from a broken vent off my silverado for the black plastic I needed. The thicker end is the same thickness as the ashtray arm. I cut off a piece a little wider and longer than the arm needed to be, with a box cutter, and glued it on with Gorilla Glue Super Glue. I then widdled it down to match the right arm. Then I cut a round peg from the same plastic vent blade and glued that on. Looks almost perfect. Fit perfect and took me 15 min.
might hold for a few years if you don't use it much. I have switches there and my epoxy fixes haven't been too robust.
I was thinking about switches in it's place. Don't have anything to put on a switch yet, except my parking break bypass for my DVD player. I don't use the ashtray, so I think it will be fine.
