Lol I know how it sounds. But seriously, I'm gonna be doing my first ls1 plug change tomorrow. I've done it once on my old lt1 camaro and it doesn't seem much different from the ls1. So for the number 8 plug, I did it from bottom on my lt1. But I'm thinking I want to do all from up top to try and save time. What do u guys think. Oh, and btw I have stock manifolds
I've always managed from the top, just may want to move a couple items out of the way to save your arms.
No. 8 from the bottom was cake.
I have always done them from the top, removing the coil packs helps quite a bit. It will be more of a challenge with you having the stock manifolds and AIR in the way.
I read on install university how to do it. Seems more time consuming than anything. Can I avoid moving the coil pack rail and air tube and just do it from bottom? Or is it worth removing all the junk and doing it up top
Takes only a few minutes to remove the coil packs -- well worth the time imo. Also, be sure to pop up the plastic pins that secure the cowl seal. Otherwise you are likely to shred your hands on them.

Well got her all done. Took me 5 1/2 hours. Did them all from up top and only items removed were stb, passenger side air tube and catch can. I guess my skinny forearms are a blessing after all lol

five hours.. dang i thought i was slow at 40 minutes.. but anyways you will get better with time!! the first time always sucks. I broke almost all my wires and had to make new ones because i had to drive it the next day. anyways congrats.
Not sure if it was mentioned, but it is a good idea to put a dab of dielectric grease in each plug boot before installation. Helps to keep the boot from sticking to the plug and also seals out moisture.
Yeah I did that, on each end. Also used antisieze and Snugged them all tight
