How do i know my clutch went out on my car??????

Need more definition of the problem to diagnose this...

Also, I bet this get's moved to a more appropriate section *hint: manual tranny*...

well when i turn my car on and i put it in gear nothing happens all you can hear is the axle hitting something and when the car is turned off and i get under the car and move the axle it just spins

If it slips, its bad. Mine slipped so bad in fifth at 80, i knew it was out.
