steering question (3rd gen)

i know this is an ls1 site, but i wanted to ask quickly . my wife's 91 bird's steering is off... it's tight on one side, but if i turn it the other way, it feels a little sloppy, and there's play. I've replaced the steering shaft, the steering gear box, yet there is still play. Anyone know what might be wrong?

Pitman or idler arms are worn, if not an inner/outer tie rod. Since the 3rd-gens have the old, multi-link steering setup, you will have to either jack up one side at a time and shake the front end or lift the car up and shake the front end. But my guess is either the pitman or idler arm.
