Today I had to put my 14 year old cat down because of cancer. I can honestly say on the way to the vet I felt the most guilty i have ever felt for doing it but it had to be done. Anyways R.I.P Griffey

Yes, that's always a tough thing to do. You got alot of good years out of him thought I'm sure.
deffinatly Im gonna go out and get hammered tonite in his memory haha
:( i don't look forward to that day with any of my pets... but if they are suffering their last thought is probaby "thank you" as they pass on...
Sorry to hear that bud. Yeah I'm hoping I am one of the lucky owners whose pets go peacefully in their sleep after living 20 years. Cause I don't wanna make that decision either!
I have had to do it twice, its mucho difficult. You have my sympathy.
I had to take one of my mom's dogs in to put them down. He was aging, could barely see, couldn't hear, etc. It was sad. I felt horrible. :(
It makes me sad... even teary eyed to think of a day when my little guy won't be around. He's 8 now, I've got lots of great years coming.
If he wasn't responding to treatment and he was only going to get worse sometimes the most comforting thought is knowing you ended his suffering before he experienced he'll on earth. My condolences. It's never easy.
I've had to do it several times over the years. It never gets easier. I know that guilt you're talking about. But, watching them suffer is so much harder.
So sorry for your loss
yeah....it's a tough thing to do. I had to do it to my dog of 13 years myself. Imagine going to bed at night with that on your conscience.
Sorry to hear it sir :sorry:
Its never easy but I like to think that your saving the animal soooo much suffering that its better for you both. Had to put down a few animals and it SUCKS :cry2:
As much as I want another kitty this the main reason I'll never have another pet.

You found yourself in the kind of situation where there were only two choices available: the right thing to do and the wrong one. Your choice was the most painful to you and the kindest, most merciful thing for your friend. Doesn't change the guilt, I know.
