Hey guys hows it going? Does anyone on here have some matte black hood stripes for their black car? I think it would kinda be cool to do and possibly a little unique. What are your guy's opinion on this? It would be for my 99 WS.6

Personally I don't think it would look good. I have seen some flat black but it was the whole car not just the stripes and it didn't look that good IMHO. I think it would just look like the stripes weren't finished. Just to check you want to put it on a gloss black car right?
Yeah it would be on a gloss black car. I wasn't thinking about hood striped like yours, I was just thinking more of just the little side ones so it wouldn't be too extreme.
Well if you want subtle stripes that make a statement and have some money you can always do ghost stripes. Just take it to a paint shop and have then sand the hood shoot some pearl, color is up to you blue or red look great on black and in the sun and under lights they'll shine and stand out and at night the almost dissapear. I plan to do red pearl over my white hood to.match the brakes and overlays but I have a shop and do it for a living so for me it's cheaper than vinyl stripes. Something to think about I saw a blk WS6 in FL with red ghost flames and it looked sick. At night you barely noticed it but drive by in the sun and they jump out at you also your not likely to see anyone else with them so you'll have a real custom look that will catch a lot of attention.
Just think Black Mach I on this one... I dont think it looks bad, but its really not gonna be noticeable...
Yeah that's what I was gonna say... Also, I've seen a black Mustang GT that had flat black striped on the hood. It looks ok. It's a subtle thing, as others have said. I'm not a fan of stripes personally, but I thought it looked ok on the Mustang. Never seen it on an f-body...Quote:
