Flickering Headlight?????

I have an "02 Z28 and I recently started having a problem with the headlights, and dash lights flickering, especially on cold starts. From what I've read on here, I'm assuming it's the alternator, but most of the time it stops once the car warms up. Weird. Any other things it may be???? Also read somewhere that I may need a higher amps alternator, however I've had a hard time tracking one down at the local parts stores. Any help on where to pick one up, or peoples experience with them would help tremendously. Thanks in advance.

It's def the alt. May also be a good time to look into how old your battery is. Your not going to need a higher amp alternator unless your pushing a serious set of subs in there.

Plus all the auto parts stores can test all that stuff for free. I wouldn't recommend autozone for testing the alt, I have had bad luck with them in the past.

What does your volt gauge read? Does it go away or flicker faster during acceleration ?
