What's the difference between a LT1 T56 and an LSX T56? I was thinking about swapping an LSx block into my hawk but then I would have to go and get a new 6 speed correct? The bell housing pattern is different? What else? Input shaft?

To start, depending on the year in question, the gear ratio's are different.
It wasn't until 96 that the T56 shared the same gear setup as the LS trannies have. Before that they had a much steaper first gear and not as much overdrive.
Since they also use a different clutch systems (push verses pull) the bellhousings and hydraulics are different, as well as the input shaft.
