Best bang for the buck!

Alrighty folks, still got my 02 camaro. Bone stock still. No cats, straight pip exhaust. Custom tuning (going to re done now that this is my official play toy) Ran a 8.75 in 1/8 last night, best yet... awful proud of a .0026 reaction time though! :bravo:

I need some cheap yet very effective ways to boost the power under the hood. Ok maybe not cheap, but cheaper... I am wanting to work my way down to a 7.99 sec ride, after that I would be perfectly content. I know nothing cheap is going to make that significant of a difference, but easy does it. one little thing at a time!

Long Tubes, Lid, LCA relocation brackets, and some sticky tires.

Throw subframe connectors in there as well, always good to keep flex out of the body

nitrous is prolly your cheapest way to 7.99 or lower its hard on that stock bottom end tho but hey if you only spray at the track and never let it over heat you should be good for a little while. idk what size shot it would take to get you close to 7.99 but prolly a 125 if i had to guess

And a tranny cooler!!!

My car has the tranny cooler built into the radiator, also its a manual. I do not shift myself, my car was tuned and is being re tuned to peak performance (takes more than 1 shot to get it just right) I discovered it ran better in over drive than it did in drive, and on street tires launched better when i really had em smoking. my 60 ft is averaging 2.08.

oh and it does have a lid (sorry i forgot)

ya but the stock tiny tranny cooler isnt enough if you run a stall ul need a bigger one they are like 50 bucks

How can your car be a manual? You state it runs better in OD than D... And that you do not shift.. Which makes it a Auto... Help us help you...

ok well now that the confusion is over if you have a 3600 stall for example it will allow you to hold your rpms up to a certain rpm range with a 3600 itll prolly hold up to 2800 rpms or maybe more which will allow you to leave at a higher rpm when the light goes green now this is a very vague description but i hope you get the pic and if you run a stall convertor (aftermarket torque convertor) then you will need an aftermarket tranny cooler otherwise your tranny will run hotter and likely it would cause damage

Turbo , Nitrous and superchargers :D . Hell, it can even out perform some cam and head combos with a stock converter . If a cam and heads set up gave you 60 more horses . That @ .6-.7 tenths in the 1/4 . My stall on my STOCK engine cut off .63 tenths on my 1/4 in crappy da . If the da was the same as my run w/o the converter it would of been over .8 tenths ! Thats a pretty big change .

Until I get another daily driver is a stall converter going go to effect my everyday driver. And if I understand properly. When I am at the light I hold my break down ad my car at about 2500 rpm. I then Release break and hit gas. This will allow me to hold at 3600 r instead.

you got the jist of it it allows an auto to launch similar to a standard transmission as far as daily driving it you should be fine just cruising around esp if u dont have a cam or anything youll notice a difference but it will still be daily driveable in my opinion hell i drive my 408 stroker with a 4000 stall around almost daily lol but thats another story

I also own a A4, and i gotta say that the best things to do to the ls1, without breaking your pocket is:
SLP Lid
Subframe Connectors
T/B bypass kit
Cat delete
Cold air free mod
Send T/B out to get ported
NGK Iridium plugs
MSD spark plug wires
Full Tune

These mods will get the car feeling good, but won't break your pockets. :yay:

sounds good, but a t/b bypass kit really wont help me here where its hotter than hell at all times will it? i thought that by passed the radiator cooler that warms the car when its cold. and dont i kinda need that when we get another ice storm down here in kentucky?
