I am looking to maybe upgrade. My synchros in the 3-4 shift are on the way out and I want to either get a quality rebuild, or a whole new transmission. Any help appreciated, the only time I have ever replaced a Transmission was on my A4 car. I am installing milled 243 heads and a large cam later this month so I need something that will hold up to the increase in HP.
I took mine to RPM transmission. You can check out their website. They are pretty reputable. No issues with mine so far, but I just had it built last summer when I broke my 3-4 synchronizer keys.
Just noticed after I posted you live in FL. Not sure if they have other locations or not, but the one I went to was in Indiana, about a 3 hour drive from me.
i just sent my transmission to tickperformance.com they rebuilt my tranny for a very reasonable price!! i just got my tranny back in my car monday and it shifts better then it did when it came from the factory also they have a youtube account the owner has a z06 vette and a z28 camaro he is power shifting both of the cars ... its really badass!!! also they do shipping in the rebuild price and i am building 7 lbs of boost w my car and now putting nitrous to it sooo the tranny is pretty strong
Freakin sweet. Thanks man. I will have around 440 RWHP after the cam install so I will probably go with the level 2. Its pretty cheap too.
