A whole lot more than what is currently available (the electricity produced by wind power is like 2.5x more money at the meter than coal power), everyone around here seemsto bring this up first and complains about it. The point is not to make cheap electricity, it is to get away from using fossil fuels. Yes, the construction of these does use a lot of fossil fuels, however, take into consideration the (hopeful) longevity of these machines, and quite possibly they may, in due time, recover their costs of construction, operation and maitenence. Chances are its a crapshoot, six of one, half dozen of the other kind of situation. Regardless, the first time I ever saw a windfarm, all I could think about was "War of the Worlds".
