Different Tail Lights?

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I have a 2001 ws6, the back tail light on one side is different than the other. I have had people tell me it looks like I have a light out. When you look at the plastic red filler piece on one side it is the same color all the way across. Of course both have the honeycomb black pattern over them. Now, the one on the left changes. There are three lights, the 2 on the farthest left have a darker color red over them, the one on the farthest right looks like the tail light cover on the right side of the car. Its really wierd. If you look closely the red color behind the black honeycomb darkens as you move to the left, the line in which it darkens actually follows the black pattern over the the piece. This was not something somebody did, it was manufactured like this. Is it possible I have a tailight cover from another model or something? Sorry for the description, its hard to describe, has anyone else seen this before? Maybe somebody replaced it with one from a later year or somenthing.

dude i have the same problem with mine on drivers side. I ordered a new one from GM it was 150.00
