Value of

Just currious, what would the value of the following be.

1998 GMC Suburban 2500 4x4 5.7L 129,xxx miles. (Loaded)
1998 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L 4x4 115,xxx miles. Cab & Half 10.5" Lift(Cloth/Power Everything)
2000 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 4x4 Regular Cab 130,000 Miles (Meh...)

These are the few I am looking at the moment, what would they be worth? All of them in good condition, Suburban in the best few chips on the hood, one rip in the back by the seat. Has some records, at least proof oil has been changed every 3,000-3,500 miles while the current owner had it since 80,000 miles.

What are you trying to do with them? Extended road trips, heavy hauling, a "nice" beater, something you throw stuff in and not worry about getting scuffed up or what? I know you're intelligent enough to use KBB and NADA, so I won't refer you to those, but if it were me, I'd choose the bowtie. But I'm a GM brand loyal kinda guy (kinda....)

Guess fair trade for my Corvette was what I was trying to say. I find NADA better then KBB. But I don't think either of them are any good anymore. I am going through Autotrader as we speak, so far looks fair. Hell all these damn Vette's, most of them are still on there when I bought mine.

I am leaning toward the GMC, btw. Not so much the Dodge's...

What I intend to do.
1: Run my new bussiness out of it, and pull a big ass thing of water when I do work at the airport.
2: Trailer the Falcon, to longer distance shows.
3: Bring my Doberman with me more, his ass will not get in the Vette.
4: Light off roading, IE when I want to cut my trip in half to the feed store.
5: Boat, yep I want one sooner or later.
6: Make my tool look bigger.

BTW, the Corvette needs a set of new tires... Needs new weather stripping and is also not working for what I need anymore...

Sounds like the sub will do you better for what you want, so in your reply I think you answered your own question;) But if you want reassurance, yes, I would take the suburban over the other 2, any day of the week. I wouldn't expect to pay anymore than $4k for it though, atleast around my parts and a little further south. You get up around D.C. and they'll want $6k-$7k :rolleyes: Regardless of the documentation showing TLC for the drivetrain, it has obviously been neglected in one way or another, which is a fine point I WOULD bring up! Don't try to piss off the seller with it, but make it a point that it's sort of holding back a portion of your interest, unless he's willing to bargain a good bit. Just remember, he's the one that needs the money, NOT YOU!

Actually it's a trade, my Corvette for the burban. From the prices, seems fair. Looking on autotrader, 500 mile search from my zip. They are about the same price, well the 1500's. I could not really find any 2500's found one, but it was a 2wd and it was still the same price. I'd imagine a 4x4 would be more. BTW, the prices was $5,000-8,000.

I had no luck with listing my Vette here for $5,000 firm here. Locally for $6,000 OBO. There's 2 other 93 Corvette's in good condition, looks better then mine but more miles for more. Then I found one at a dealer, two owner mint with half the miles, orignal collor, no damage on the side. For $7,500 OBO, I e-mailed him said I'll do $6,300 out the door (He replied, when can he expect me)... Then a few others for $5000 (New tranny) and another for $6,000. All these other Vette's are 92-95.

IDK, I need a truck. But still want to know if it's a fair trade. But also I am trying to keep in mind, there is minor damaged from when I was side swiped. I also need a full set of tires. The other vehicles don't, so I will be saving money there, lol...

you're not a wise car shopper (being nice) if you pay 5-7.5k for any of those vehicles

What would you say my Corvette is worth? With out being a dick, what would you the Suburban is worth... With out saying it's worthless, because it worths something.

If you was looking to trade my Vette, what would you look for? Still forsale, but no luck selling... Plus rather trade, so won't be out of a daily driver.

maybe 4500 for the burb at most, there are plenty of 88-00 3.4 ton trucks and burbs for cheap. Or even a 6.0 rc/lb fleet truck

Not going to offend me... I personally don't think it worths much and was a bad buy...

I like 96-99 3/4 tons for a beater/work truck. Dad's company has some 99's they can use. They're trading them in soon for a few thousand each, just over 100k on all

Not that there's anything majorly wrong with it, just don't care for it... Also, does not work for my current lifestyle. I am not saying I am going through with the trade, still a couple more truck want to look at. I also decided I really don't want to put any money out either... I can, just don't want to.

That's pretty cool, how you do that? But read what I said above... Hell NADA says my car worths $9,000 for my area, my ass it does. All the C4's with 80,000 miles or above, for $7,500 plus has been there since I bought mine. I don't find the "books" worth a damn in this ecconomy anymore. As said, I did an autotrader search with Chevy/GMC Suburban and Corvette all in one. They seem close with the asking price, but hard not knowing what they would accept. But I am pretty sure the slight damage on mine with tires balder then hell, will reflect. But I am also sure that long ass vehicles bad gas mileage would reflect.

I typically just search local prices and kbb or nada and price it in the mix. if cars like yours have been sitting on autotrader for months at one price, you might want to try a bit lower if you can.
