clutch
i have a 98 ws6 and the clutch pedel is at the very bottom u have to push it through the floor to get reverse im wondering if this is a hydrolic issue or if it just a bad clutch the pedel goes half way down before it starts to disengage the clutch thanks for any help

thanks but sorry mine is not sticking or coming back slow there is just not much clutch and its all the way at the follr and i dont want to tear the clutch out and change it if all i need is a slave or master cylinder
-
check your fluid. if its black and gunky its bad. it should be clear. clutch fluid is dot 3 brake fluid. bleeding the clutch is a good idea aswell. i have 140k on the original and its still doin fine.
-
yes the fluid is black so does the whole hyd system need changed or is it possible to drain and change fluid
-
Sounds like a hydraulic problem. You should flush/bleed/fill with new fluid and see how that works for you.
-
You can flush it. Get a Mity-Vac, and if you end up changing the clutch get a Tick Remote Speed Bleeder line- makes the job infinitely easier.

thanks for the help but this is my firse ls1 and ive never messed with a internel slave cylinder. how do i drain the old fluid and bleed out the air?
-
This is what the slave cylinder looks like installed on the transmission. Two things come through the side of the bellhousing. the bottom one is the fluid line from the master cylinder. the top one is the bleeder. You wanna open the bleeder and bleed clean fluid through the system. Almost like bleeding brakes. There is more info on bleeding in the
