I am new to suspension modding. My TA is a 98 with stock suspension and the rear end shocks seems to be spent as it knocks on harder bumps. I am strongly considering a Koni 4/4 upgrade with Pro-kit LT1 springs.
Can 12 year old stock springs 'go bad' or is this just a shock issue?
Sam is outta Strano Springs for now and I'm wanting to tackle this soon. So I'm wondering if I should just keep stock springs and go Koni's. Feedback?
Get the Koni's. Ride the stock springs for now. That's what I'm doing, then if you don't like it, wait for Stranos springs to be back in stock. I think its gonna be quite a while though :(
Was there a pretty noticeable difference when you swapped to koni?
If there shocks are allowing the knock, does that mean my springs need to go too?
I just purchased the Koni 4/4 two days ago:) Not here yet, and Im not too sure I will be around my car this year to even test them sadly:(
Hard to say with the knock. Could be many things. Swap the shocks, Im sure they are wasted. New stock shocks are a joke. If you can swing it, the Koni's are on sale for a price you will never see again.
