So my 2000 SS camaro started overheating, i checked for coolant leaks and found nothing but it keeps runnig out of coolant . so i decided to take a closer look and found water and oil in the intake manifold . now the car wont start. any suggestions?

If you have coolant in the intake DONT TRY TO START IT. the water (coolant) will not compress and might end up bending a rod or busting a piston. have you had any overheating issues prior to this? Might look at the head gaskets.

well the more i look into it now i think it might be hydrolocked , i drove through a flooded parking lot and the car stalled and did not start back up again
yeah take the plugs out and unplug the coil packs turn it over a couple of times and replace the plugs.
See if that helps.

Pull the plugs out, and put a 1/2" drive ratchet and socket on the harmonic balancer bolt and turn the engine over clockwise by hand. I don't remember the size of the bolt head off hand, but its pretty large, something like 18mm.Quote:

And its a 24MM bolt. I only remember because the socket fell off 100 times last time I took mine off.
Oh....one last thing now that I think of it....which is very important. If water does come out or you find another problem, CHANGE YOUR OIL ASAP! Disconnect the coils and pull the fuse on the fuel pump, crank your car over til you build oil pressure. That way, your car has pressure built up and is fully lubed at low RPM's. Reconnect and start up! Let it idle for a bit and listen carefully at the motor (IE: no radio or distractions) If I'm wrong which I don't think I am, someone will point me out :yup: If everything goes good from that point on, run some type of cleaner (IE: Seafoam, etc..) through the intake to clean the gunk out
I hope you got luckier than I did. I ran through a lake of a puddle last week, sucked water up into the intake and when it hydrolocked it blew #7 rod out the side of the block and bottom of the pan :(

I think he has a popped headgasket or something like that. This could cause a hydrolock from coolant, so simply clearing the cylinders wont fix the problem.
