TCS problem

To the woman that purchased my car originally...WHY DID YOU GET TRACTION CONTROL ON A WS6 WITH A SIX SPEED MANUAL!?!?!?!

Grrr.

I turn it off every time I get in the car. BUT, if I forget, and I manage to get "low trac" light to come on for a brief period. Well, you know how when it is doing its thing you cannot push the pedal down any more? Yeah, long long long long after the light goes off, I still am screwed. I cannot push it passed that point. The only way I can fix it, is to get low trac again, and then it usually fixes. Funny as hell one night, I came home going 65 and I only had like 1/4 inch of pedal movement allowed. lol.

Anyways, I don't have to get a new pcm do I? Is there like a fuse that I can just throw out? It's really annoying.

Also...it happens if I SLAM the breaks hard enough to get low trac light. Then it just picks an arbitrary spot to limit pedal travel.

I believe there is a plug in module that reverses the operation of the TCS. Rather than "Normally On" it is changed to "Normally Off". Therefore, you never have to push a switch unless you want to enable TCS.

That's a band-aid fix.

Slp makes a module that plugs in and reverses the tcs.

That doesn't fix the problem. There are times when TCS is highly benefitial and I want it. But would not be able to use it until this problem is fixed. Your guy's solution to the problem is tantamount to telling someone with a fast blinking turn signal to just quit using it.

I misunderstood your original question -- I thought you just wanted it to be off most of the time rather than on. The system is probably the same as our '02, do you want a diagnostic procedure?

I'm pretty sure that's operated off a vacuum assembly with it's own throttle cable. I don't have tcs so hopefully someone that does can correct me if I'm wrong. Look at that vacuum assembly and the cable and make sure everythings cool with those 2. I'm not entirely sure how it mechanically limits the throttle but that would be where I started looking. I would rule out the mechanical stuff before looking at the electrical.

I'll check that out tommorrow. It hasn't thrown any code, so a scan won't help any.
