Has anyone broken the stock rearend launching on street tires at the track with a 6-speed?
I have an auto and kept having problems with my stock rear, 3:73 gears, and nitto 555 street tires. I had to finally get a Moser 12 Bolt. Of course my car has close to 400 ft lbs of torque.Quote:

My buddy has broke 3 stock rears with 4.10s.
i broke my stock rear with 3.23's twice, 3.73's and 4.11's before i went to the Ford 9 inch...in my 93 back in 94-95. with my last 2 95s, I walked it out (2.2 60') just to be safe...maybe one day i can afford a Moser...
I haven't tried slick yet but I'm giving the stock all I can with street tires. I do worry about it everytime push it hard. When I do bust it I'll go with a 12 bolt or 9".
Iv'e broke 3 stock rear ends with my v6 5speed with 3.73 and street tires:drivin:
Plenty of people have, but that doesn't mean yours will.
I have friends with less hp than me who launch softly and have broken shit. Mine has stayed together just fine thus far on very aggressive drag radial launches.
Three things will reduce the lifetime of your rear end... 1) incorrectly set up gears 2) running low on fluid and 3) WHEEL HOP!!!!
