WHAT?! NHRA used to go there every summer. How could a popular track close?
Probably want to sell the land to a developer and make some cash.

It's rediculous how some of these popular tracks are closing down. Where are we supposed to go to have fun even if we are in the mood to race?
Memphis went down hill when dover took them over. that was the beginning of the end and a lot of people saw it happening. They closed the dirt track that stayed packed every friday night to add parking for a shitty paved oval that was used 3 times a year. They didnt promote any events at the drag strip and jacked prices up. Hopefully someone will buy the track that actually wants it to succeed maybe even put in another dirt track. But if I had to bet on it id say it will end up just like Lakeland. http://lakelandraceway.com/
