ls6 upgrade

the other day I was driving in the rain with my wifes 2000 firehawk. I went slowly through a puddle and it still sucked up water and pushed a rod through block. The insurance is going to cover the cost of the repair. The shop im workin with is going to put a 30,000 mile ls6 in it. they are going to put all my bolt ons on it and the cam in it too. I was wondering what yall think i sould exspect as far as power upgrade. Im not sure what cam was in it till they pull it out and run the numbers. The car was running low 12s to high 11s with the ls1.

Well first that's extremlt lucky you were able to replace it so easily. Secondly where are you getting this cam from? I really wouldn't want to be putting stuff in my car I had no idea the specs on even if it was running 11's. Also pushroids will have to be different since the heads have more compression than your old 853 heads.

use the cam in the ls6 unless you have a stock cam... that sounds like stock cam numbers for a LS6... are they putting in a short block and using your heads and what not???
