Throttle Cable Help

I just installed a ported throttle body on my 99 ss camaro. This one came off of a 2001 ss camaro. I did not realize that the arm is different. It will not return to the idle position. If I return it with my hand it will work until you give it gas. It is not sticking, it looks like the motor for the traction control where all the cables meet is spring loaded. Do I need a cable off of a 2001 to work or is there a way to adjust the preload on the traction control motor? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry to hear of your problems...The throttle body from a 2001 to a 1999 has a different cam that I'm aware of. Not sure there is a fix and may require you to put the correct year throttle body on the car. Hope that helps.

Looks like I just need to switch the throttle cable. The 98-99 has a different part number than the 00-02. I will find out on monday when the stealership is open.

Just finished installing a 00-02 throttle cable on my 99. Everything worked out great. The new one is just a little longer than the 98-99 because of the bigger cam on the 00-02 throttle body.
