Should the PCV elbow connecting the end of the PCV valve to the intake manifold (just behind the throttle body) collapse when the car is running? It's really soft rubber that just buckles and collapses when the engine is running. Could this be causing my strange, high idle at times?

That could definately be your problem. mine actually had a whole in it and I could hear a hissing but I know what your talking about. the high Idle is more than likely an exhaust leak inspect other hoses just to be safe.Quote:

Either the hose is old and fatigued or it's a cheap hose. Just replace with good quality hose and you are good. I've noticed some of the auto chain stores are selling some pretty cheap fuel hose with thin wall. Find good quality that will bend a nice 180 without kinking.
