0-60

I have a program on my i phone that calculates 0-60, 8th mile and 1/4 mile times. With exhause,cai and the stock 273 gear the best 0-60 time i got was 4.8 hooking perfectlly. On average i get mid to low 5's. what should i expect my 0-60 to be? Is this accurate?

What you've already clocked is exactly right. The 4.8, with your 2.73s, is especially sweet.

Those things are not very accurate at ALL. We tested my boss' in his 1.8 Sentra and it gave him a 13.2 at 133mph...

I used one on the parkway one night and with another 200lb person in the car with a full tank of gas I got 12.6 at 102mph.

My 60 foot and 0-60 times were horrible. Like a 3.5 60 foot.

Yep. I have some both accurate and wild. Depends on how you place the phone in the vehicle IMO

Question - How accurate are G-tech times? They seem to be pretty close. At least the G-Tech can give you a reference and if you see an improvement when you make a mod imo.

I don't know how accurate any of these things are, but I do know that being level is very critical. And using them as a reference, to check on mod improvements, is their best use. 0-60 I don't think would be enough time to really check for mod improvements. Take several runs, avg the times, do your mod, then do several more runs, avg these and see if the mod helped. I'd try to do 1000 ft or longer runs to really see some consistency.

they can be pretty accurate if they're set up properly--- i've compared g-tech speeds to gps speeds and they're usually within 1 mph

I used a i-phone to measure my auto legacys 0-60 time and it said 4.8 which is what my logger also says so its pretty accurate if you have it setup right. It gave me a 1/4mile time of 13.8something which is pretty close since most of my 1/4mile times in my legacy were 13.7-13.8ish with my best time being 13.67 at 101mph.

Yeah, which is why i compared my times on the real track to the iphone and they were within .2 seconds of eachother

just my .02 when i run at the track with street tires on the same day same set up same every thing run after run after run i still have about .2 between runs... now with silcks its a diffrent story and my car's a m6 with 3.89 gears and a detorit locker and a stage 3 clutch so if u dum and bog and then next time u dump and spin and then bog thers always going to be play and best thing to do is glue that phone to the dash lol

The exhaust on a WS6 is more than enough for 500HP. I’ve done the math. So, I’ll say that improving the exhaust system prior to 500HP is a waste of $$$! the numbers never lie, anyone that tells you different is trying to sell you an exhaust system.

I always wondered about that as it seemed like even though the pipes are oval by the tranny mount they still have the same inside volume. I'd still be a fan of reducing the restriction of the muffler and the turns at that point with a cut out though.

Why does it have to account for any of those things, all it does is measure how long it takes you to go from one point to another. Start to 1/4mile mark

its called dyno tune.. just go to the apps store you will find it and its free!

If changing the exhaust is a waste of $$$, please tell me why people say the dyno tells them different. Or why the track times improve with a cat-back. On otherwise stock cars.

The driver gets better?






No really reducing the retriction on our cars takes away torque but adds a little HP so it's just about a trade off. Maybe less torque helps with the driver hooking up. I'm playing the devil's advocate here. :devil:

I will say there is a lot better way to spend $500 for the performance on our cars. However, most people buy an exhaust system just to enrich the sound coming out of those twin exhaust pipes. :typer:

That is a very incorrect statement. You do not loose torque. You gain both and move your powerband up higher in the RPMs.
