Doing hard time

Sarge made a thread/poll asking about poeple who have been to jail a few years back - click here to view old thread and about 40% had been to jail. Most of them just over nighters or drunk tank. I'm wondering about Prison. I know it's a touchy subject for some. I'm not trying to pass judgement or mock anyone. Just wants to know if anyone here has done any serious time. How long were you in for and how it has affected in you later life: relationships, driving habits, school, spiritually, career etc.

Only time(s) I spent in jail were overnight as a juvie and overnight when I was picked up for being rowdy with civs when I was in the Army.

I've managed to avoid prison

considering how many members we have on this site, SOMEBODY had to have spent time in the joint at some point. Its just the law of averages

I did a month in county jail, waiting to be taken back up to base in Conneticutt. 2 U.S. Marshalls finally came, transported me back up there. spent about 4 months in the brigg, then got discharged.

Long story short, serious family problems back home, military wouldn't grant me leave, so, I left. Got pulled over one day and taken in for 'military desertion'.

All in all, wasn't so bad. I can play the hell out of some Domino's and Spades now :lol:

Thats funny, thats seems to be the general answer I get

never went to jail, but i have be ban from here a few times. :lol:

I'm one of the "DC 12,000" ... May 1971 got caught up in a huge police sweep during anti war demonstrations back then. Did a night, I was 17 at the time, my parents were pretty pissed at me. I certainly wouldn't call it "hard time"

Wasn't that like 35 years ago :lol:

Me, never, and I hope to avoid it. I do however know plenty of people with interesting stories on how they ended up there and a few close friends that got thrown in jail from the same incident.
