Fuel pressure loss at wot

I have a 02 ss w/cam,headers,exhaust,intake...etc no nitrous or turbo just bolt ons and small drivetrains add-on. When its on idle i have approx 51 lbs of fuel and from take off to about redline, my fuel pressure drops to about 15lbs and stalls. When i let go of the gas it goes up fast back to 51lbs. Its kinda the same issue thru all gears. Only when i wot it, if i let loose from the trottle it starts to runs better but still have like 30 lbs... Im guessing the fuel pump is stock (at least i did not change it) and just cant keep up with the hp. Should i change it or add one on to the existing one? And i've also heard of wiring kits for the fuel pump for more amps... Any ideas?



SHOULD I PUT ONE IN-LINE FUEL PUMP OR REPLACE THE STOCK?

Sounds like the stock one is taking a dump. I would go with the walbro 255 pump and their wiring kit.

How a bout a new filter, a clogged fuel filter will cause the same restriction in fuel flow and is much cheaper and easier to change.

Yeah need to do that as well... but you need to replace in the in tank pump.

I've seen fuel filters do that many times.

Had same issue with my 02 Z-28 changed fuel pump to the 225 and holds steady at about 63-65 psi.

If it is indeed a bad fuel pump, go with the Racetronix kit with the Hot Wire kit. It comes with some very good instructions and is a nice unit.
