Have a question, who can answer?

I just bought a brand new laptop and it has WIFI built in. I got on the internet but 99% of servers are secure so I believe I need what is called a WEP key. Out of the ones that are not secure, I have problems connecting due to weak signal. Is there anything out there that is semi cheap that will magnify the signal or help my laptop connect. Someone please chime in. I appreciate it.

I think there are wireless network cards out there that can help you pick up a better signal...let me check

Start doing a google search on a pringle can, supposedly that can boost a signal...someone more experienced will chime in I am sure.

or you might try and find out who owns those networks and get their passwords. Your card is working fine and can see the other networks. It's just all those networks are locked b/c the owners put the pass on them. If you're pals with one of your neibors just ask for the password and you'll be fine

I made one a few years back. Kinda hard to get perfect.

I have the wireless link system at my home, and found out a lot of neighbors were logging on to it, so I secured it, therefor, I have to enter my WEP code to log on... They will all be different.

The big one that would be awesome is the Cafe across the street, maybe 200 ft away. They have free WIFI for their customers. If I could get that, I would be set.

I secured mine..it's called "NOT YOURS"

I should do that too. All my neighbors out here have the same DSL service as I do and they all show up. So, I think I'll rename mine "NOT YOURS" too :lol:

Then poor people like me will have no internet at their apts. Help a brother out :lol: I need to steal the Cafe's. They don't care, not secured. Just can't reach that shit. Has anyone heard of a Canantena or some shit like that.

wow ok..you can easily get a external card...then you can buy attenas(sp) for that card that will boost signal. very simple solution...but be warned..i have set up honeypots before to catch pricks like you..and i capture all traffic going through the honeypot..i had captured iver 50 myspace/facebook credentials..and got on and told them to buy their own fucking internet. so be careful with those unprotected networks..and further more ...with those secured networks..if you really really want in...go to 192.168.1.1.
and type in admin for the user name..and admin for the password ..get in and have fun..if your good with computers..throw a sniffer in there and when they try to access the router..they will pass it the old credentials..save it and then you can log in..i believe you can also put your mac address on a 'trusted list" were authentication is not needed.

like he said, they are really easy to get into if people dont know what they are doing, if you are taping into free internet you better know what you are getting into as well...

Didn't know it was that big of deal. Thats alright tho, I ordered DSL and Cable thats getting hooked up tomorrow. Sick of this bullshit slow connection. :ar:
