So Im in need of new front tires for my GTO thanks to strut rub, I found these Yokohama S.Drives in 235/40r17 with a W speed rating at a local shop for ~$320 installed with alignment and balancing and all that good stuff. Anyone have any personal experience with these? They seem good and all, but I always second guess myself on tires because they're definitely important. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Aright after a year driving on these bad larry's, I must say I like em. I've got some feathering, but thats thanks to shitty factory front end suspension pieces. These tires have seen about 15k on the front of the GTO, and still have at least 70% tread left. They grip like nobody's business; I slide the back end out, letting the steering wheel sprin, and as soon as I step on the gas the car straightens right out. Great wet weather handling thanks to the tread pattern, and fantastic dry traction thanks to the solid center strip. I'll definitely be buying another set of these when the time comes.

Finding tires is a bitch I like to get a feel of my tires by seeing how fast they let me go around on/off ramps and compare the speed to the last set. Easy to say how you like them but it's nice to compare speeds w/ old tires.
Well I just had a set thrown on yesterday, so we'll see. Previously I have had two sets of YOKO ES100's, which were a real good tire for me. I ran them with 43 PSI and got over 40,000 miles on each set. Wet traction looks to be better given the massive rain grooves on the S-Drives.
I have had them for 2 years now. Fun for tooling around in, hook alot better than the previous raptor garbage. Also, takes exit ramps alot nicer. I have a freind at discount tires who got me them for 600, he said they're comparable to nittos. So for the money, not bad.
As any street tire goes, spinning all of first. I think they only rotate a few times with a nice power shift into 2nd and only a tiny squak into 3rd.
I can hook up fairly quick with these S-Drives, no different than the ES100's. I installed lower control arm relocation brackets a few years ago and those helped a lot with getting bite and wheel hop.
