I noticed yesterday my car is having trouble accelerating when I get on it. It wasn't nearly this bad before. It feels really delayed and not responsive at all, like she needs to take a breath before going.
What could be the culprit? I definitely need to add some oil - it's quite low. Also I have a clear lid right now and can see a lot of gunk in the MAF screen. Other than that not sure.
Clean your Air Filter, MAF and TB.
Ummm, if your quite low on oil... I highly suggest you stop doing that and put some oil in.

Sounds like you have a clogged/dirty fuel filter.
Mine was doing the same thing about a month ago. I thought it was my fuel pump going out so I took it to my mechanic. He suggested I change the fuel filter and that I might get lucky and that be the problem instead of my fuel pump going out.
I bought and had a new fuel filter put on and havent had any problems since.
sounds like you answered your own question. All those sound like good suggestions. When mine was really sluggish i thought it was the clutch slipping but it turned out to be a loose spark plug wire. You can check and make sure with your hand or with the car running squirt down by the plugs with a water bottle and look for fireworks.Quote:

Thanks guys. I'm going to start with the cleaning the MAF screen, but might as well do filters/liquids/wires/plugs/hoses/etc while I'm at it. It's time for that.
That's the thing...I'm religious about checking the oil and getting it changed. I don't know why it is so low. My oil change was maybe 2 months ago.Quote:

Stop doing this people. The screen is there for a reason. Stop changing MAF's. Stockers is good to 500+RWHP. Its not a restriction. Aftermarket MAFS show no gain, usually just a load of other problems.
Check your oil every other fuel up. 1 QT low at 6500 rpm is an excellant way to spin a bearing a ruin your shortblock. Use good oil, not what the oil change place "suggests".
Change those things and see if it helps.

Actually my oil wasn't as low as I thought, so that's good. And this car has only had mobil 1 synthetic in it.
I looked at the screen again and it is really clogged. I think that's the problem. I will clean it tomorrow when I install my lid.
camino is right, f*ck the air filter, as long as your running your maf screen.
I would highly suggest keeping the screen as well or waiting till you have a tune. It does change the maf tables from what I have read from the tuners on here.

Dude, the screen on the MAF is not used as a secondary filter for the air. When I learn more about doing SD I will surely go with it. I have HPtuner Pro, but I need to learn alittle more about tuning VE tables. Sure, the stock MAF on a 400 ci+ engine is somewhat a restriction... but unless you tune for a aftermarket MAF, I gurantee it changes your tune(for the worse).

As stated a million times before. The screen is there for a reason(and its not for a secondary air filter!). Taking it out, and "porting" your MAF is worthless IMO. If you feel a power gain, its all in your head. I barely felt a power gain swapping from a shitty LS1 intake to a FAST 92 PTM 92 on a CNC'd headed, full exhuast 6.0 . Leave the damn MAF alone.
