I've seen a few of these cruising around, and know somebody who has one. Are they fast? If so, how fast?

This is right from Motor Trend
Engine 2.0L/205-hp supercharged I-4, DOHC, 4 valves/cyl
0-60 mph, sec 6.0
1/4 mile, sec @ mph 14.5 @ 98.2
Braking, 60-0 mph, ft 115
200-ft skidpad, avg g 0.89
600-ft slalom, mph 69.0
Every time I see one, the guy in it acts like he is driving a ricer. He thinks it is the baddest car ever! I had one a few months ago pull up next to me at a stoplight and start revving up like he has something. I gave him a couple revs and when the light turned green he shot off like a bat out of hell. I slowly took off and made him look stupid. He was not even worth my time.
There's a guy running one around here. He's got exhaust, and spray. It's somewhat quick.
they can be fast....specially if peopel ditch those big ass heavy wheels.
power to weight ratio is probably better than our cars sadly....
There's one guy over in Old Bridge, NJ by "Go-Go Rama"... It's black with red racing stripes and has a bench seat of a spoiler... Looks alright, just needs to be alil more beefed up... Can't wait till I run into him at a light!Quote:

I didnt cut him any slack and let him have it. He was an idiot.. about 3 days later he rolled it into a ditch and totalled it. :thumbdn:
Some of the SS Cobalts are not S/C, instead they have a 2.2ltr. Diff of 40ftlbs of torque.
it's still a weird looking car, sits really high and has a thin tall body. not much for racing.
I still think they look like a shopping cart.
There is a guy at the track here that has dogged and dogged and finally hit a 14.9. Hell it took him about a month work of track time to get it down that low.
Uh, I kinda doubt that. Lets see, if they come stock with 205 HP, and ours came with 305 HP and we're at about 3500 lbs, the Cobalt would have to weigh less than 2352 to hav the same power to weight ratio.Quote:

Danger, where you living these days? A couple of years back, I got into a huge arguement with some schmuck over by "Bourbon Street" in Sayerville. Guy was a regular there, and sported a yellow Lambo. I got so messed up that night, I bet him a grand that I would hand him his @ss starting from Perrine Road, up until Old Mill. Dumbass accepted.Quote:

Long story short, not only did I get him off of the line, my 454 pulled him like a raped ape up until Old Mill Road. He eventually flew right by me (and I was still gunning it), but he passed me like I was in slow motion. Didn't matter though, I won. Of course, he didn't pay up though. Again, didn't matter. Just happy I was able to shut this wannabe gangster's mouth up (he was talking shit all night that night).
I mentioned this because I was curious. If you frequented this particular club, thought maybe you were there to witness it (quite a few years ago though)... ;)
Um and our cars came with more than 305hp in case you didn't know - it was underrated as shit to make the corvette look faster! - most bone stock LS1s dyno over 280rwhp even the automatics - you do the math 15%loss for M6 and 20%loss for 4L60Es:nono:Quote:
