Dart 205 Heads

Dart 205 heads with 10K miles on them. Never raced or tracked. Heads were disassembled when new and the ports were sanded to remove the casting lines and the chambers were smoothed.

Since I removed them in November 2008, they have had the following work done to them.

1. Full disassembly and the ports were cleaned by hand (no large power tools or chemical tanking).
2. The valves have been ultrasonically cleaned to new condition.
3. Once all parts received their initial cleaning, the guides were hand washed, lubed and all valves were lapped using fine lapping compound.
4. Once lapped, the heads were checked for flatness and cleaned a final time.
5. The valves were ultrasonically cleaned a 2nd time to prior to assembly.
6. The heads were re-assembled measuring installed height of each valve spring (installed heights are below)


These heads should be ready to install straight out of the box when you receive them.

I am also including a set of Denso Iridium IK-20 gasket spark plugs. If you check the price on these they are $11.99 apiece new.

Valves – The valves are REV part no. CL-1170 (intake) and CL-1168 (exhaust).

Retainers – Titanium manufactured by Trick Titanium (they make the retainers for Comp as well)

factory ls6 castings flow 275 cfm @ .550, these flow 290. also have same comp ratio as ls6 castings. fair upgrade for a 346, especially w/ bigger valves. (dunno what's done to these didn't take time to read completely)

Higher compression. LS6 are 64cc chamber, these are 62cc. These also don't go turbulent, unlike LS6.

The Darts are delivered as 62 cc which is a nice advantage because you don't need to mill to get the chamber size down, unless of course you want it smaller than the 62 cc.

well the fact they come w/ 62's is really nice, i'm not much a fan of altering precisely designed combustion chambers if i dont have to.
