Stupid Nissan Mechanics

Sorry I just wanted to vent a bit here. Wow I just got my wife's 2008 Altima back from the dealer. it has a few issues like a air bag recall and the low tire psi light that comes on whenever it wants to, but according to them nothings wrong, thats BS. All the tires are at 32psi and the light still comes on going down the road. anyways here is the big one that is going to end the life of the car. it knocks to no end. Now the knock does get quieter the longer it runs but it doesn't ever go away. Now according to them again it is a normal sound... WTF it didn't do this when we bought it. here tell me what you think I'll post up a short vid of the knocking sound. sorry for the bad quality...

damn sure sounds like a knock to me, oil level has always been good? always changed? sounds like either pin or rod knock, or possibly some detonation

Yea oil changed every 3500 doen't use a drop between changes. We bought this car it was a Nissan program vehicle with 22,000 miles on it so I would think that they would have kept it serviced correctly, ah who knows. maybe it will blow up and i'll let them take it back on the lemon law. i would rather have a G8 anyways.

take it back to them and say what you said here "it didn't do taht when i bought it" if they say it is normal tell them you don't give a shit and it needs to be fixed under warenty... if the guys gives you any shit tell him you want a manager... i'mi sure you're like every member here and works hard for thier money so don't let them bull shit you... tell them you aren't going to leave untill a resolve is met...

could be. theres a lot of noises that can sound like a knock and sound worse then it really is. But exhaust leaks are more of a puffing sound, that noise he has sounds way more like spark knock or rod knock to me.

Ah heck curbs whats that??? no man this road isn't even wide enough for the double yellow lines. last election my wife's dad told the magistrate lines would be nice out here and bam couple weeks before the election stripes was layed down.

nissan techs are bullshit...my mom has a 2004 pathfinder.....last time she took it in the charged her all the money b/c she needed a TB cleaning and adjustment etc.....which I told her I could have done but it was too late.....anyway.....so I was using her car on a trip and rpm started going from 2000-4000 for no reason, had no acceleration, and the shifting was all f-cked up...when I got the car back, i started checking intake for water, TB positioning sensor etc.....sure enough the TB is dirty as shit, checked the SES code and it says idle sensor/ TB sensor malfunc......so I take it to nissan and am like look, she paid for you assholes to clean and recalibrate this thing and you didnt......you could even tell the gasket was old......so the nissan guy was all like, humm thats strange I dont know why they would do that.......well l do, you see a unsuspecting women and try to take her money....so I told them they had to do the work that she paid for, which they did, and I got them to give her a credit.........just proves the stealerships are just that stealerships........at one time it was bad enough that they were doing work on your car and charging you for it when you didnt really need it.... now they are charging you and not even performing the work.....I can see this happening at a small shady mech. but not a place like nissan......shows you they are all bullshit.....I feel sorry for people who dont know or understand enough to either work on their car or know whats going on with it. I told her from now on before she takes her car in or agrees to anything she has to call me.
