LS7 clutch problem.....

I need help. it's been going on for months now.... I have a 02 LS1 with T-56 tranny. I installed a brand new LS7 clutch with LS2 flywheel setup about 6 months ago. at the same time, i installed new slave cylinder, bearing etc. I have a willwood master cylinder(LS1 engine is in my nissan 240sx).

and now for the problem: every morning, when i start the car the clutch pedal feels very light. as i keep driving down the street, the clutch pedal slowly starts to sink to the bottom of the floor. i can shift the gear however the clutch bites really close to the floor(normally about half way). as i keep pumping the pedal, the clutch eventually comes back to normal feel(about 10-15 minutes). after that, the problem no longer occurs until the next morning. it seems like if i keep the car turned off for over 12 hours it happens.

I read bout LS7 clutch users having similar problems..... is there any fix to this problem? My buddy said the clutch must be bad.......but it is brand new.

Mine sorta does the same thing but not quite as bad, I think its normal though. ive ran it hard and it still works great

Mine does the same exact thing! I bled the hell out of it but it still feels like crap!

Sounds like the hydrolics are starting to act up. Most likely the master of slave. Is the clutch slipping as well ?

it feels like it's slipping. when i dump the clutch after i shift, it don't jerk at all.....it just feels like normal driving.

can the master or slave go bad in less than 6 months?

are you saying it's normal on ls7 clutch? or normal on t-56 clutch setup? my buddy have a stock ls1 clutch on his t-56 and it never do this. i think there are something wrong with this.

did you do anything else to eliminate this problem? i heard that the ls7 clutch needs to be adjusted prior to installation.... something about the screw on the clutch needs to be turned counter clockwise...... i have never heard of this but could this be true?

well mines not that bad, it grabs a little harder when its cold, but when you warm it up it works great. ive made 18 passes in one night a the strip and it held up great the whole time, no fading at all

BTW i installed it with new slave, master and throw out bearing, whole new assembly

no I haven't, Its weird as it goes away after the car is warm, I also can shift into every gear no sweat at high rpms. I replaced my master and my slave when I did the clutch, Im just gonna live with it.

A falling clutch pedal is hydraulic related either the master cylinder, slave or lines. It is not normal for the pedal to fall regardless of the type of clutch you have.

that is what I thought. but I have all new parts. lines, master, slave, throwout bearing, clutch. it seems like my fluid is very dirty. but i have changed this about 6 months ago and it's already dirty. is this mean i have a problem with my hydraulic system?

thanks for the info. i'll try this and see if it stops the dead pedal problem.

The fluid gets dirty pretty quick. I had the same problem with the pedal and it was my master cylinder. I also did the drill mod to an 02 master cylinder and that seems to have solved my problem now for more then a year. I didn't know willwood made clutch cylinders. I"ve heard the aftermarket ones are not so great but no experience with them personally.
