Exhaust

Did my first oil change this morning. (just bought the car 4 weeks ago). I noticed on the drivers side the y pipe is as skinny as a pancake. Is there any power to be gained by having a shop replace that small section with a nice round pipe? Looks like a real restriction. Any thoughts??

a custom y pipe may benefit you some (a few hp) if your exhaust guy is good. however, if you plan on gettin lt headers in the future, i would just hold off and change it then. they make aftermarket y pipe's also. i wouldnt bother with just replacin the flat section of the stock y pipe.

Yeah if your going to change that just go with some long tubes and a Y pipe would be your best bet. As for your question yes the stock exhaust in general is very restrictive.
