yea ive changed my idea on that i wasnt thinking right if i did get a 66-69 stang id keep the 289 and bore it out and get alot of high performance stuff for it and keep it an original thats why i might get this 1981 camaro that looks decent and make it a bad ass street car thats already has a 383 stroker engine pushing 390 hp alone

Sorry I didn't get back with you on the 454 into the Stang thing. So it's a 66 I6 car. IMHO, more hassle than it would be worth (from a financial as well as a hobby standpoint). Major surgery required to even put a Ford big block in that let alone a Chevy engine. 1st gen Stangs weren't designed with those engines in mind, at least not till 67 when they made it big enough to hold the FE engine (390/427/428).

Be careful with whatever old car you buy as depending on where it has been it may have hidden faults (hit and poor body work or rust/rot in vulnerable areas - rocker panels, floors, trunks, etc.)
