Z28 Hood Question
Hello from GA. Has anyone heard anything good or bad regarding a hood like this? The website is hawksthirdgenparts.com and it (the hood) claims to add 20-25 hp with the air box.

First of all, about all these figures get inflated. The air ram idea means nothing until higher speeds start forcing air in at a higher rate than they can draw in at a stop or low speed. A higher rate of flow through the filter is a definite gain, but I think 10-15 more horsepower TOTAL is much more realistic for that type of mod.
The hood looks good though. That should have a bearing on the potential for purchase. My car has an SS hood, and while there may be a very modest gain in air flow, I doubt it is much at all. The lid, filter, and air box mod made the most gain. Still, I would opt for my hood just on looks even if it didn't have any performance gain (which it may not).
Good luck.
