    Whats going on LS1 Alums....

Finally decided to join LS1.com. Looking to get advise on my rebuild of my 02' ws6.

Here is what I'm looking to do:

    1. Rebuild engine to support 500-550 HP (new seals, new wiring etc..)
    2. Lunati Hydr camshaft
    3. Eagle 4" stroke crank with Scat H beams
    4. AFR 1510 mongoose heads
    5. FAST 90mm throttle
    6. FAST manifold
    7. Hooker long tube headers, high-flow cat, borla 3" cat-back cut for true dual.
    8. Gona send the CPU to Texas-Speed to be re-flashed for stage 3 application. (chip is currently stage 2)
    9. (already installed Grantelli MAF)

I'm thinking that should be enough to get me too at least 500 at the backend, but if I'm missing something let me know. I don't want to run juice or any induction even though the AFR heads are induction ready, I want it to be all motor. If anyone feels I'm missing something let me know.

    Thanks in advance...

    Sadly now demodded :(

    Welcome to the site!

Personally I'd start with a 4" or larger bore so as to unshroud the valves. 4" stroke on a 3.90 dia LS1 = 383cid; 4" stroke on a 4" bore LS2 = 402cid. It's easier to get an honest 500rwhp with the larger bore block. Also like the old adage says, "Ain't no replacement for cubic inch displacement".

At least where no power adders are involved...
    67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...

2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior

    2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.

I'd say you are missing a lot! Rear end, suspension, transmission, tires, clutch if you're a M6...

Hey Guys, thanks for the warm welcome. I've got a long way till I reach the 500 mark and you guys gave me some really good advice, I'll keep ya'll posted on my progress. First thing I'm gona work on is the car itself. To address 35th-ANV-SS I haven't forgot the fundamentals and currently those are the things I'm working on now. I'm prepping my car for the mods I want to put in. So the tranny is getting stage 4 clutch (supposedly 600+ HP tested) not so sure about that but OK. Stabalizer, control arm and sway all mounted. Backend, I've already have an Eaton slip diff 7.5 28 spline mounted. Coilover and shocks replaced, sitting on Firehawk blue oval rubber for day to day grip. So far thats all the prep work I've done. I know there is more but without the money can't get there quick enough..LOL You all can agree this is an expensive hobby..LOL
