Silver- 2006 GTO M6
What to do - buy a project or get something with low miles
I found a 99 z28 (90k miles) local that needs some work on both door windows, seats falling apart, needs tires and check engine light is on, they say from the headers. There may be other issues - headlights need buffed and a couple spots of paint need work.
The other car is an 01 SS with 30k miles. A lady at work owns it and it is stored for the winter.
I probably would have $5k in the project and still have a car with 90k on the odometer.
For about $10 I could have a cherry car with a third the miles. But I would have to baby it because it is unmolested in every way.
What would you guys do?

Personally i think 90k miles is finally getting the engine broken in so the miles isnt a big deal i plan on driving my cars not storing them. It seems like most of your issues with the cheaper car is Cosmetic and with 5 grand left over you can fix the check engine light, get some bolt-ons, reupholster your seats to something custom and put some other goodies on with cash left over. Having a pristine car would be nice no doubt but for me i need budget car so i got room to make it my own. Good luck either way you will be happy.

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
If you can get an 01 SS with 30k for 10 grand, do it. FAST. Welcome aboard.

I'd definitely go for the unmolested one. Fresh, clean plate to start with.

Welcome to the site. I would go with the 01 myself. It's been taken care of. Who knows what other issues the 99 might have. I'd also take a OBD-II scanner over and check the codes on the 99 before even considering it.

Red- 99 Z28
Buy the one with 30k miles on it and then turn around sell it for 14k and then go buy the 99 and basically have the car for free.
